Tour Itinerary

Day1.  Arrive at Addis Ababa international airport and transfer to hotel. Depending on the time of your arrival visit Addis Ababa tourist attraction including the national museum to see the most precious archaeological finds such as “Lucy” the fossilized remains of early hominids, architecturally and historically significant churches of Trinity cathedral, Anthropological museum and the largest open air marker “Markato”. Late in the afternoon drive to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day2.  Drive to Arbaminch via Butajira road exploring the pre historic site of Melka Kunture and world heritage site of Tiya stele .The drive to Arbaminch via Hosana also gives the opportunity of exploring some attractive scenery, Gurage and Wolaita people settlements and way of life. Overnight in a hotel

Day3.  Morning after breakfast make boat trip on Lake Chamo to explore hippos and large size crocodile’s at Crocodile market. In the afternoon after lunch, ascend to Guge Mountain, to visit the Dorze tribe and their magnificent beehive shaped hut, false banana cultivations and weaving culture. After visit drive back to Arbaminch for overnight stay. Overnight in a hotel

Day4.  Morning After breakfast drive to Key Afer and Jinka, if the day is Thursday you will visit Keyafer market which is attended by different tribes ( Hamer, Bena ,Ari and Tsemai) .On the way visit Weito, Derashe and Ari tribes and their villages . Then proceed to Jinka for your overnight stay. Overnight in a hotel

Day5.  Morning drive to Mago National park & make an excursion tour to visit and appreciate the most fascinating culture of Mursi tribe and their village. They are renowned for the unique custom pursued by their women, who on reaching maturity, cut their lower lips and insert a circular clay disc. Once the visit at Mursi village is completed, you will continue driving to Turmi and late in the afternoon visit Hammer Settlement near to Turmi. Overnight in Lodge

Day6.  Today you will have half day excursion tour to Murelle village to visit the Karo ethnic groups; they are experts in body painting. After having your lunch have your lunch of in a local hotel at Dimeka. If the day is market day (Tuesday or Saturday) you will visit Dimeka Market which is attended by different tribes including Hamer, Benna, Tsemai, etc). Late in the afternoon at about drive back to Turmi for overnight stay.

Day7.  Morning after breakfast drive 75km to visit DASENECH people who inhabited in the bank of Omo Rive and famous for their hair style. Cross the Omo River by locally made boat to see the village. Lunch will be from the lunch box. After the visit late in the afternoon drive back to Turmi for overnight stay. Overnight Lodge

Day8.  Early in the morning drive about 195 km to Konso and on the way visit Erbore villages. The Konso people are known for their traditional terracing which has UNESCO recognition. After lunch break visit Konso village and unusually engraved wooden statues and meet their tribal chief to learn about their fascinating culture. Overnight in Lodge

Day9.  Early in the morning, drive about 110kms to the city of Yabello through the beautiful Borena tribal villages. In the afternoon after lunch break, drive about 105kms to Lake El-Sod meaning “Salt House” and visit how the Borena tribe extract salt from the lake. Then drive back to Yabello for overnight stay. Overnight in local hotel

Day10.  Morning drive about 240kms to Yirgalem through the scenic Sidama plain. Enroute visit the Gujji tribe, coffee and Enset (false Banana) plantation. After check in to the lodge late in the afternoon, walk in the lodge premises and surrounding forest to spot wild animals such as hyenas. Overnight in Lodge.

Day11.  Early in the morning drive back to Addis Ababa through the Ethiopian Rift Valley region. On the way sightseeing visit to Sidama tribal villages, intact forest plantation around wondogenet and rift valley lakes of Ziway and Abijata Shalla. Evening farewell dinner will be served in one of the known traditional restaurants where you will get another opportunity to appreciate the Ethiopian dish and cultural dance. Then transfer out to the airport for your flight back home.
